Dura Hooks

The Tip: It features a very sharp, fine, curved hook at the working end. The hook is designed to be small enough to safely catch and lift incredibly thin tissue layers without causing unnecessary tearing.
The Shaft: It typically has a long, slender, and lightweight shaft. This gives the surgeon optimal visibility and precision when working under a surgical microscope or loupes.
Tissue Retraction: Holding back the edges of the incised dural membrane during deep cranial or spinal operations to keep the surgical field clear.
